Fleet

Fleet is a feature designed for large-scale battles which involves over 10 Pilots. Fleet members led by Commander, Gunnery Officer and Navigator can combat as a unit, which can avoid problems caused by network lag, misoperation and cooperation.

Management

Each Corp can hold 10 Fleets and each Fleet can have 50 members.

CEO and Director can create and rename Fleets, and appoint Fleet Commander. Only CEO and Director have the authority to dismiss Fleets. Fleet members will not be removed from Fleet even if they are offline.

Roles

There are three Roles for Fleet: Commander, Gunnery Officer and Navigator. They have different responsibilities and authorities.

Commander is appointed by CEO or Director who is in charge of Fleet Roles assignment, and members removal. Although Commander cannot give orders in combats, Commander is the head of a Fleet who focuses on overall combat situation rather than details.

Navigator is in charge of Fleet Formation who navigates fleet members, allowing the fleet to be in the best position for combat, and switch between matrix and facade formations as appropriate. Navigator not only pilots a ship but controls an entire Fleet. There will be two buttons shown on Navigator's screen, one is to lead the Fleet to jump through Stargates, and the other one is for Fleet Warp.

Gunnery Officer is to mark targets for the fleet. There will be an icon on Gunnery Officer's screen to lock target, select a target and tap this icon, members that join Formation will automatically attack the target till it is shot down.

Members

When combat in Fleets, Fleet members who join Formation and activate Auto-combat will seen "Stay in sync with the Fleet formation" on their screen, then they will automatically attack targets that marked by Gunnery Officer and follow Navigator.

Gunnery Officer will not take control of Devices of members' ships, so members should seize the opportunity to activate Devices in combats. For example, use Shield or Energy  Projector when fleet member is marked by opponent Gunnery Officer; use Warp or Velocity Interference Devices when Gunnery Officer marks a target.

Members, who don't want to follow Gunnery Officer and Navigator, can check boxes "Do not follow Fleet Warp" and "Do not join Formation" in Fleets interface.

Conclusion

Fleet is a feature designed for large-scale battles. Fleet members led by Commander, Gunnery Officer and Navigator can combat as a unit.

Fleet members, Commander, Gunnery Officer and Navigator have to work together in combats. It's very important for Commander to appoint appropriate Pilots as Gunnery Officer and Navigator; Navigator should change Formation wisely to make sure the Fleet be in the best position for combat; Gunnery Officer's duty is to mark targets to shot down opponents quickly. As for members, use ships' Devices at the right time to protect other members and interfere with opponents' attack. Set not to follow Gunnery Officer and Navigator when necessary.
