Wormhole

Exploring wormholes is one of the most effective ways to collect resources. Exploring wormholes mainly provides you with supply cases that contain blueprints of ships, weapons, devices, and components. You may also get contraband storage cases, Credit vouchers, and minerals. You may encounter different events in wormholes, these events offer different items.

Overview

Based on the levels of difficulty, wormholes can be classified into mild wormholes, unstable wormholes, alarming wormholes, critical wormholes, and deadly wormholes. The difficulty of a wormhole decides the difficulty of events in this wormhole, the Pilot level required to enter this wormhole, and the location of the entrance.

To enter a wormhole, you must find the entrance. Go to Map, and select Wormhole Level in the filter.

A wormhole has multiple entrances that spread among several solar systems. Notably, if another player enters a wormhole that has the same difficulty as the one you entered, you can find that player in the wormhole as long as you two pilot the same type of ships.

Enter a wormhole

You can enter a wormhole with any type of ship. The entrance only cares about your level determining whether you are allowed to enter this wormhole.

Since PvP is allowed in wormholes, players piloting different types of ships will not stay in the same wormhole, which ensures fair fights. In other words, if you want to explore a wormhole with your partners, you must pilot ships of same type (frigate, destroyer, cruiser, battlecruiser, or battleship).

When you enters a wormhole, you are affected by the distortion effect. The distortion effect interferes with your ship's energy system. Your ship's energy restoration keeps being affected and finally you cannot activate any of your weapons and devices.

It takes about 20 minutes for the distortion effect to reach level ten (X). During this period, you can explore the wormhole and complete events to win rewards.

Wormhole structure

There are four kinds of targets in wormholes. You can see them on the third tab of the Overview.

Completing wormhole events is an important part of wormhole exploration. These events provide handsome rewards. There are more than one hundred events in a wormhole, but you can only see the five events that are closest to you in the Overview.

Notably, there are Regulated Spaces and Chaotic Spaces in a wormhole. Regulated Spaces are protected by the Great Council, and Chaotic Spaces are lawless areas where PvP is permitted.

When you enter a wormhole from outside, you are in a regulated space. In each regulated space, you can find an entrance to another regulated space and an entrance to a chaotic space. You can choose to stay safe in regulated spaces. But if you want more in a single trip, you will want to go to a chaotic space.

Events in chaotic spaces provide more rewards. When you enter a chaotic space, the distortion effect on your ship is reset. That is to say, you have another 20 minutes to explore.

Notably, you cannot return to regulated spaces once you enter a chaotic space. If you want to stop exploring, you can leave the wormhole by warping to the exit.

Conclusion

Exploring wormholes is one of the most effective ways to collect resources such as blueprints of ships, weapons, devices, and components. High reward always comes with high risk and difficulty. If you want to explore a wormhole safely, you'd better try events only in regulated spaces.

If you want to challenge yourself and fight for greater rewards, you should enter chaotic spaces. Chaotic spaces provide more rewards, and the distortion effect on your ship is reset when your first enter a chaotic space. However, you might be threatened by other players.

If you want to stop exploring, you can leave the wormhole by warping to the exit at any time. Due to the distortion effect, you only have 20 minutes to explore. When the distortion effect reaches level ten (X), you receive a warning that you must leave.
