Pilot Development
As an RPG, there are a number of features designed around the character, i.e. Pilot development. Through investing resources in these features, the Pilot will gradually develop into a powerful and skilled with player's game style. Based on the path chosen and mapped by the player, the game experience would vary greatly.
Pilot Rating
Pilot Rating is a score given by the system considering the character's overall development progress, including current level, implant plan, attribute points, skills and Tech. It's a numeric representation of how well a character is developed, it can also be used as a reference point when comparing characters.
Then, detailed description will be on Pilot Level. More contents about implants, attribute points, academy and research can be found in their respective section.
Pilot Level
Pilot level is the most base feature of character development. It works as a game progress checkpoint so players aren't lost in this open world sandbox. It is also a guideline for EXP bonuses.
Pilot level is increased by gaining EXP. A Pilot can gain EXP by completing missions or quests.
Quest EXP
In Quests of Ops interface, players are able to view all the available means to gain EXP and daily EXP limit.
All quest EXP will be totaled in the daily EXP limit, and it cannot be exceeded for this level.
The daily EXP limit is determined by Pilot level. The higher the Pilot level, the higher the EXP limit. If a Pilot levels up before filling up the daily EXP limit, the limit will extend to reflect this immediately.
A player may still complete quests even if the daily EXP limit is reached, but he/she will not receive any EXP until the limit resets. The daily reset time for EXP limit is UTC 16:00.
Catch up on Pilot Level
In order to help casual and new players stay competitive, there are 2 ways to receive extra daily EXP:
1. Rollover experience, it is designed for time limited players to be able to rollover unused EXP limit and better utilize their game time. Left over EXP limit will become Rollover EXP for the next day. A player with Rollover EXP will receive double EXP for their Quests until their Rollover EXP are used up.
The total Quest EXP a player can gain is the sum of daily EXP limit and Rollover EXP. There is a limit to Rollover experiences, you may only stock up on a total EXP amount equal to 3 times daily limit of Rollover EXP.
2. EXP bonus, according to the mode and average of all players EXP and Pilot level, players will receive EXP bonus if they fell behind the main pack according to their Pilot level. This will help new players that start the game late, and won't feel excluded the gameplay.
Conclusion
A Pilot can only level up by gaining EXP. There are many Quests available, and a player may gain EXP until daily limit is reached. Casual players and players starting late can catch up with Rollover EXP and EXP bonus.
Although Pilot level is the base for character development, and it won't take much time to level up. There are many features available to reveal customization and play style such as Implants, attribute points, skills and technologies. Please refer to respective guides for details on each feature.
