Interstellar Travel
In Second Galaxy, neighboring solar systems are connected through stargates. Multiple solar systems form into a constellation, multiple constellations form into a realm, and ultimately the 10 realms form into the universe we know.
The paths between solar systems form a giant network in the realm map. To help players find the optimal routes through this complex network, there is an auto piloting system that automatically creates the shortest route to the target location whenever players need an interstellar travel.
The auto piloting system is in charge of warping, crossing stargates and entering space stations. Players can see the scheduled routes and their current positions from the displayed route at the top of screen, or stop auto piloting by tap the cancel icon on the right side of the displayed route.
Through Searching
To search for a solar system in the realm map and start auto piloting from there is the most fundamental way of interstellar travel. Detail about how to find a solar system in the realm map can be found in the guide of realm map. After that, just tap the "Warp to" button on the solar system's operation panel.
Through Quests
All the activities based on certain locations provide a Go button, upon tapping it, a route will be formed and auto piloting will start immediately:
Besides, there are limits on ship selections for some quests. So if a player taps the Go button inside a space station, they will be led to the Select Ship panel to choose the admitted ships for this quest. If the player taps the Go button in the space, the game will decide whether the player's ship is admitted for this quest, if not, the player will be prompted to return to the Base to switch ship.
Through Links
It's quite common to see blue underlined tappable solar system names in the game. These are called solar system links or SS links. They may appear in either system interfaces or the chat:
Upon tapping a link, the realm map will be displayed and the scheduled route is shown on it. If a player wants to share an SS link in a chat channel, they need to locate the solar system of interest first, then tap the "i" button on its operation panel, and then tap the Share button.
Base Relocation
Besides normal travels through stargates, there is another special way of travel called Base Relocation. The concept of Base needs to be clarified before proceeding.
In Second Galaxy, every player has a Base, where all the player's properties are stored. Plus, most personal development related systems are only available when the player is in the Base. In another word, the Base is like the home for a player, and the player is supposed to conduct most activities near their homes.
Base location is not permanent. That means if the player wishes, it can be changed anytime. The whole relocation process is automatically done in the game.
To initiate a Base relocation, the player needs to first locate the destination in the realm map, and then tap the Base Relocation button on the operation panel:
There are a period of time needed for the Base relocation to be fully prepared. The amount of time is dependent on the distance. During the preparation time, the player can view the remaining time inside the current Base or speed up the process. When the relocation is ready, the player can tap the Relocate button and show up at the space station of the destination instantly along with the new Base.
Conclusion
There are multiple approaches in the game that a player can take for interstellar travel, including searching for a solar system and starting auto piloting in the realm map, tapping the Go button in activity panels, and "instant" traveling through Base relocation.
Once auto piloting is initiated, the shipboard AI will pilot the ship towards the destination automatically. This process can be canceled anytime by tapping either of the two buttons mentioned above.
