Attributes and Skills
Attributes and skills map a Pilot's development, attributes are reflection of a Pilot's abilities and skills define what a Pilot is capable of. Players may learn new skills when the attributes prerequisite is met. The more skills and attributes a Pilot have, will make this Pilot stronger in this area.
Pilot Attributes
There are 4 primary pilot attributes: weapon, defense, electronics and ship piloting. The player can open pilot profile anytime to see how developed the character is in these attributes.
A Pilot will start out with different attributes based on their career choice. But these differences will not make a huge impact on character development, mapping out a Pilot's attributes is vital to what a Pilot will become.
Weapon will increase damage of all weapons, and unlock advanced weapon skills.
Defense will increase shield of all ships, and unlock advanced defense skills.
Electronics will increase energy of all ships, and unlock advanced engineering skills.
Ship Piloting will increase speed of all ships, and unlock advanced navigating skills.
Players may reset their attributes by using a Synaptic Regulator. Once reset, all attributes will be returned and all skills will be reset.
Pilot Skills
Pilot skills will add more specific bonuses than the four attributes, for example: weapon attributes will increase DMG for all weapons, but skills will benefit DMG, range or CRIT of a specific weapon type:
As long as the prerequisite Pilot level and attribute is met, skill is acquired instantly by spending credits. The available skills in the game are:
Weapon, will enhance weapon damage, range, or CRIT of railguns, blasters, lasers or missiles.
Defense, will enhance EM, thermal and kinetic resistances of ship shield and shield recharger's efficiency.
Electronics, will enhance energy recovery rate of the ship, reduce energy consumption of weapons or devices, and increase energy recharger's efficiency.
Ship Piloting, will enhance ship speed and warp speed, or reduce ship's signal radius.
All skills can be leveled to Lv.10, and the bonuses these skills bring will be immediate.
Conclusion
There are four attributes for Pilots, weapon, defense, electronics, and ship piloting. Attribute points are received for every level, and they can be assigned to any of the four attributes. Attributes adds bonus to the Pilot and it is the prerequisite to unlock skills.
Skills are leveled up using credits, and it does not require time to level up or learn it. But attributes and Pilot level prerequisite must be met prior to acquiring skills.
Players can use Synaptic Regulator to reset all attributes and skills.
