Recruits
Recruits can be assigned to various fields to work for players in the game. Players can take on better Recruits, train and upgrade Recruits to boost their ability for work.
There are three kinds of work for Recruits: Wingman, Dispatch and Assistant. Wingman is to assist Pilot in combat; Dispatch is to send Recruits in Squads for Mining and Bounty quests; Assistant is refer to assign Recruits to accelerate Research and Production projects.
Wingman
Recruits can be set as Wingman to assist in combat. Players can have three Wingmen in line-up at most. Line-up refers to the order for Wingmen to join a combat.
During a combat, players can only have one Wingman for assistance at a time. If the 1st line-up Wingman is shot down, then the substitute Wingman will join the combat.
However, some scenes in the game can only be entered with specific ships, so when a Wingman's ship type doesn't meet the requirement, the Wingman cannot enter and assist in combat. Then next Wingman whose ship type is qualified will join the combat.
Players can check ship type for quest, adjust Wingman line-up and swap Wingman when undocking.
Therefore, it is recommended to have three Wingmen who can pilot Frigate, Destroyer, Cruiser, Battleship and Battlecruiser. When carry out a difficult quest, make sure three Wingmen's ship type is qualified.
Dispatch
Dispatch is to send several Recruits in Squads for Quests. Squad will return with rewards when quest is complete.
Dispatch feature is in Map interface which has been briefly introduced in introduction of Solar System Map.
There are two kinds of Dispatch quests. One is Bounty quest which gives Credits, and the other is Ming quest which gives minerals. Players have to select Recruits of relative careers for both quests.
Bounty quest requires Recruits with strong combat ability, so Solider, Engineer and Scientist are preferred. Quest time varies according Recruit's ship type.
Mining quest requires Recruits that can pilot industrial ship, so Explorer is preferred. Quest time decreases with the cargo space of Recruit's industrial ship.
When a Recruit is selected for a quest, estimated quest time and rewards will be shown in the lower left corner of the interface. There is a limit to the number of Recruits in a squad, players can upgrade related Research to increase the number. Moreover, it careers of Recruits are not suit for the quest, the squad cannot be dispatched.
Players can upgrade Recruit Research to increases number of squads and Recruits on Dispatch quests, reserve quest time and increase quest rewards.
Assistant
Players can assign Recruits to assist in Research and Production, they are able to accelerate Research and Production projects and reserver materials.
It's recommended to assign Engineer for Production and Scientist for Research. But players can use Microchips to boost relative Expertise for other Recruits of different careers and assign them for Assistant.
Players have to assign Recruits as Assistant before Research and Production projects start. Once it is started, Assistant cannot be swapped or assigned. Besides, If a Recruit is en route or working, then the Recruit cannot be trained or acquire new Expertise.
Conclusion
There are three kinds of work for Recruits: Wingman, Dispatch and Assistant. Set Recruits as Wingman to assist in combat; dispatch Recruits for quests to gain Credits and minerals; assign Recruits as Assistant to accelerate Research and Production and reserve materials.
Upgrade Recruit Research to boost Recruits' ability for combat and quests, and select Recruits with related careers or train Recruits in new Expertise related to Research and Production to increase Recruits' ability as Assistant.
