Recruit
Recruits are NPC pilots that can be recruited in game. Players can set them as Wingman to assist in combat, dispatch them in Squads to collect minerals and earn Credits. Besides, Recruits can be assigned as Assistant to accelerate Research and Production projects.
Players have to attach importance to upgrade Recruit's ability since they are capable assistants in game. Take on Recruits of different careers and train them in new Expertise. Dismiss low-rank Recruits to obtain upgrade materials for high-rank Recruits.
Rank
There are four tiers of Ranks: Novice, Elite, Expert and Master. Recruits of better rank are more likely to acquire better Expertise, and they can pilot ships of higher Tech level.
Novice and Elite Recruits can acquire T1 Expertise and pilot T1 ships;
Expert Recruits can acquire T2 Expertise and pilot T2 ships;
Master Recruits can acquire T3 Expertise and pilot T2 and T3 ships.
The main method to obtain Recruits is to use Recruit Employment Contracts. Chances of different ranks Recruits are shown in Info of Recruit Employment Contracts. Rank of a Recruit cannot be changed once a Recruit is obtained.
Career
There are 4 careers for Recruits: Soldier, Engineer, Scientist and Explorer. Career determines a Recruit's area of expertise.
Soldiers are combat expert, they are specialized in Bounty Quests As Wingman, they prefer to use Firepower Boost Devices to boost own weapon damage.
Engineers are able to accelerate Production projects. As Wingman, they prefer to use Shield RES Enhancement Devices to boost own defense.
Scientists are able to accelerate Research projects. As Wingman, they prefer to use Shield Projection and Energy Projection Devices to protect Pilots.
Explorers are mining expert, they are specialized in Mining Quests. Although they not skilled in combat, they can constantly provide minerals and other resources.
Ship
Each Recruit can pilot 3 ships and a Recruit's career determines what ships can be piloted.
Ships of Soldiers, Engineers and Scientists are specialized for combat. Ship 1 to ship 3 usually are Frigate, Cruiser and Battleship, or Destroyer, Battlecruiser and Battleship. Generally, ships of Explorers are Industrial Ships, but ship 2 for Explorers might be combat specialized ship and ship 2 for Soldiers and Engineers could be Industrial ship as well.
Besides, Tech level of a Recruit's ship increases with Recruit Rank. Ships for Recruits of different ranks are listed above.
Specialty & Expertise
Specialty and Expertise of Recruits are bonuses that can boost ability of Recruits or Pilot. Recruits are born with Specialty while Expertise is acquired by leveling up or Microchips.
There are three tiers of Expertise can be acquired: T1, T2 and T3. Recruit rank determines Recruits' Specialty rank, and Recruit's career determines type of Expertise tp acquire. However, Expertise acquired by Microchips will not be affected by Recruit Rank and Career.
Level
Attributes of Recruits increase with Recruit level. As Recruit levels up, new ships will be available and new Expertise might be acquired, Recruit can take Memory Transplants to gain EXP and level up, but Recruit level cannot exceed Pilot level.
Besides, players can dismiss Recruits if a Recruit doesn't live up players' expectation or players want to transfer a Recruit's Expertise to another one. When a Recruit is dismissed, all the EXP will returned as Memory Transplants, and players can select one Expertise to retain which will be returned as Microchip.
Conclusion
Recruits are capable assistants, players can use Recruit Employment Contract to take on new Recruits. When obtain a new Recruit, players should pay attention to several information: Recruit's rank, career,ships, Specialty and Expertise.
Players can use Memory Transplants to raise Recruits' level. New ships will be available and new Expertise might be acquired as level raises. Besides, Recruits can use Microchips to train in new Expertise. Players can dismiss a Recruit to retain one Expertise which will be return as Microchip.
